Become a volunteer apprentice

Help us preserve our heritage by becoming our next Pann Mill apprentice, where you'll be directly contributing to the preservation of the last operating water mill on the river Wye. Simply come along to one of our Open Days at Pann Mill in May, July or September to find out what’s involved, or pop in to one of our work mornings on the first or third Sundays of any month.

Enthusiasm for old machinery will be your most important attribute. High levels of skill are not required, but nice if you have them to offer! Get in touch by emailing volunteer@highwycombesociety.org.uk, or fill out our contact form below.

Visit us on our Mill Open Days

Our free mill open days take place three times a year in May, July and September. Pop in to see one of the last working watermills, talk to our volunteers, or relax to the gentle rumble of running water and our working mill while you enjoy some refreshments and home baked cakes using our own wholewheat flour.

There will be milling demonstrations throughout the day and you can even buy some 100% Stoneground Wholemeal Wheat Flour to take away with you. All profits from the sale of the flour are used for the restoration and upkeep of Pann Mill.
